When you publish the agent at the end of onboarding, Nuvia opens the Your agent is ready screen with a test shortcut for each connected channel: on WhatsApp you talk to the agent yourself, and on LinkedIn you pick a colleague to receive the first message.

Why the two channels are tested differently

On WhatsApp there are two identities: the company number (which is the agent) and your phone. You can send a message yourself and watch the agent reply.

On LinkedIn there is only one: the account you connected is the agent. No one talks to themselves, so the LinkedIn test needs a third person, which is why you pick a colleague.

Where the test screen appears

The Your agent is ready screen opens on its own right after you activate the agent, already inside the platform.

What it shows first depends on the channels you connected:

Connected channels What opens
WhatsApp only The QR code panel directly — there is nothing to choose
LinkedIn only The panel to pick a colleague directly
Both The choice between Test on WhatsApp and Test on LinkedIn

If you close the screen without testing, it is not lost: the Test AI agent button stays available in the trial period banner at the top of the platform and reopens the screen whenever you want. The button disappears as soon as the first conversation exists in the account.

For more on the trial period banner, see How the Nuvia trial period works.

Test on WhatsApp

  1. In the Your agent is ready modal, click Test on WhatsApp

  2. Scan the QR code with your phone or click Open WhatsApp link

  3. Send any message to the company number

  4. The agent replies right away and the conversation appears in Conversations

The number shown is always the one from your connected WhatsApp account, even if you connected LinkedIn first.

Test on LinkedIn with a colleague

  1. In the Your agent is ready modal, click Test on LinkedIn

  2. Paste your colleague's profile in the LinkedIn profile field — it accepts the full link (linkedin.com/in/nome-da-pessoa) or just the username

  3. Click Send test message

  4. The screen shows “Sending the message…” for a few seconds and, as soon as it goes out, takes you straight to the newly created conversation

The colleague you pick must already be one of your LinkedIn connections. LinkedIn only allows direct messages between connections, and the test does not send an invitation — if the person is not connected with you yet, the field is rejected before anything is sent.

What happens after sending

Nuvia creates the contact in your account and sets up a LinkedIn campaign called Agent test, [colleague's name], with a single message step, and sends the first message right away, without waiting for the normal campaign cadence.

Sending is still asynchronous (a background process actually sends it), but it only takes a few seconds, not minutes. Meanwhile, the screen shows a spinner with “Sending the message…”. If it takes more than ~25 seconds, it changes to “We are still sending” with the Go to conversations button, so you are not left waiting indefinitely; the message appears in Conversations as soon as it goes out, even if you have already left the screen.

This test is the only exception to business hours: if you finish onboarding on a Saturday night, the message still goes out. Your regular campaigns keep respecting the configured hours.

Limit of 1 colleague per company

The test is for one colleague per company, not per call: once used, the test cannot be repeated with another person.

After that, the message “You have already used the agent test. To send to more people, create a campaign on the Campaigns screen” appears at the bottom of the panel. From then on, the path is the normal operation: create a list, set up a campaign, and track the metrics.

A technical failure when sending (e.g., temporary instability) does not use up this quota; only an attempt that actually went out (or is going out) counts as used.

Rejection messages and what to do

Profile-related rejections appear below the field:

Message What to do
We do not recognize this profile Paste the LinkedIn link (linkedin.com/in/...) or just the username
We could not find this profile on LinkedIn Check the address — the profile may have changed its username
This person is not one of your connections yet Choose someone already connected with you, or connect and try later
This is the profile you connected Pick a colleague: the connected account is the agent itself
You have already tested with this person Choose someone else — the agent already replies to whoever was tested
We cannot check LinkedIn right now Wait a moment and try again; the address is correct

Rejections that apply to the whole send appear at the bottom of the panel, without flagging any field:

Message What to do
Your LinkedIn account is not connected Go back to the channels step of onboarding and connect LinkedIn
You have already used the agent test Create a campaign on the Campaigns screen to keep sending
The quick test accepts one colleague at a time Send one profile per call

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I test LinkedIn with myself?

No. The LinkedIn account you connected is the agent's own identity — sending a message to it would be talking to yourself, and LinkedIn puts that thread under “Only you”. That is why the test asks for a colleague's profile.

I sent it and nothing arrived. Did the test fail?

Probably not. The send is triggered right away and usually goes out in a few seconds; if it takes more than ~25 seconds, the screen lets you know and offers the Go to conversations button, and the message appears there as soon as it goes out. If sending really fails for a technical reason, the test is given back and you can try again.

Does the test use up a LinkedIn connection invitation?

No. The test only accepts people who are already your connections, so no invitation is sent. That is also why profiles outside your network are rejected right away, instead of waiting for an acceptance that would never come.

Does the colleague I picked become a contact in my account?

Yes. The profile you picked is created as a contact in your company, with the LinkedIn identifier filled in, and is linked to the test campaign. This is needed so the agent recognizes your colleague's reply and handles the conversation.

Can I delete the test campaign afterward?

It is a regular campaign and appears in the Campaigns list like any other; you can deactivate or archive it when the test is over. It is worth keeping until your colleague replies, so you can follow the send.

“Publish the agent before testing” appears. What should I do?

This means the LinkedIn account is connected but does not have an agent linked to it yet. Complete the agent publishing step in onboarding and come back to the test.
