Accounts created through self-service sign-up start with a Pro plan trial period. During the trial you use the platform normally and track how many days are left on the card at the bottom of the side menu. When the period ends, the account becomes read-only until the Nuvia team activates it.
Available on: accounts created through self-service sign-up.
Who can do it: any user can see the trial card; the account is activated by the Nuvia team.
Module: bottom of the side menu
Who gets a trial period
The trial is created together with the company workspace, during self-service sign-up, when you enter your work email and Nuvia creates the company from your domain.
| How the account was created | Does it get a trial? |
| Self-service sign-up (you created the company on the website yourself) | Yes — the company starts on a trial |
| Account created by the Nuvia team (sales/implementation) | No — the account starts out active |
| Account that was already a customer before the trial existed | No — it stays active |
For your first access to the platform, see How to create your account and log in to Nuvia for the first time.
Track how many days are left
-
Look at the bottom of the side menu, below the navigation items
-
The Pro plan trial card shows the end date: “Your trial ends on [date]”
-
The colored ring next to it works like a clock: it fills up as the days of the trial go by; full means the trial is over
-
The Talk to sales button opens the Nuvia support chat (or the Help Center, if the chat is not available on the screen)
The card only appears when the side menu is expanded. When the menu is collapsed (icons only), it is hidden; expand the menu to check the date. Active accounts do not see the card.
The notice banner at the top of the platform
Besides the card in the side menu, a banner at the top of the content area follows the trial from the first day to the last. It does not wait for the final stretch to appear: it is there from day 0 and changes color as the deadline approaches.
| Time left | Banner color | What the banner says |
| 3 days or more | Blue (informational) | How many days are left until the end of the trial |
| 2 days or 1 day | Yellow (attention) | That the trial ends soon — “tomorrow”, on the last day |
| Ends today | Orange (alert) | “Your trial ends today. After that, your account will be read-only until you choose a plan.” |
| Already ended | Orange (alert) | “Your trial period has ended. Your account is read-only until you choose a plan.” |
The Talk to sales button is always on the banner. From the day before the end onward, it changes from a discreet link to a solid button; same action, just more visible.
The “Test AI agent” button
If you published an agent in guided onboarding and have not tested any conversation yet, the banner also shows the Test AI agent button. It reopens the Your agent is ready screen, with the test shortcuts for WhatsApp and LinkedIn.
The button disappears on its own as soon as any conversation exists in the account — including if you reply to the test from your phone, with the screen already closed. It also does not appear once the trial has ended: in that state the account is read-only and the test message would not go out.
For the test step by step, see How to test your agent for the first time at the end of onboarding.
What changes when the trial ends
As soon as the end date is reached, the account moves to the trial-ended status; there is no waiting for overnight processing, the change takes effect immediately.
| What you can still do | What is blocked |
| View conversations, contacts, lists, campaigns, dashboards, and settings | Create, edit, or delete any record |
| Check history and export what is already on screen | Send messages, launch campaigns, and activate funnels |
| Log in to the platform normally (login and session keep working) | Import contacts, run enrichment, and set up integrations |
When you try a blocked action, the notice “Your trial period has ended. Talk to our team to activate your account.” appears and the side menu card changes to Your trial has ended.
The read-only account reminder
With the trial ended, Nuvia also opens a window with a padlock and the title “Your trial period has ended”, explaining that the account is read-only and offering the Talk to sales button.
How the reminder works:
-
It appears on the very first load, even if you go straight to a specific screen
-
It comes back every time you switch screens in the main menu or the settings menu. Going from Dashboards to Conversations shows it again; opening a conversation inside Conversations does not
-
You can close it — with the X, the Esc key, or by clicking outside. It does not lock anything: the real block is on the actions, not the window
-
Closing it applies to that screen, within that browser tab. In a new tab the reminder comes back
What stops running on its own: agent, follow-up, and campaigns
Besides the actions you take on screen, an ended trial also stops what the platform runs automatically. It is the difference between “I cannot send” and “nothing goes out from here, not even on its own”.
| What runs on its own | With the trial ended |
| Smart Funnel agent replying on WhatsApp | Stops replying. The lead's message keeps arriving, is saved, and appears in the conversation — only the agent's reply does not go out |
| The agent's automatic follow-up | Stops being triggered. No lead gets nudged while the account is in the ended state |
| Campaigns (scheduled, recurring, sequence, and LinkedIn) | Do not send. No step message goes out, on any channel |
The most important point for anyone monitoring the operation: the campaign still shows as Active in the list. The system does not change its status — it just stops running it. This is intentional: when the account is activated, everything starts sending again without you having to turn each campaign back on, and you do not lose track of which campaigns you had paused.
On the Campaigns screen, the on/off toggle is disabled while the account is read-only; hovering over it shows the trial-ended notice.
LinkedIn is disconnected when the trial ends
When the trial deadline passes and the account is not activated, Nuvia automatically disconnects the LinkedIn account linked to the workspace.
What you need to know:
-
It applies only to LinkedIn. WhatsApp stays connected normally — you do not need to redo the WhatsApp connection after activating the account.
-
If the account is activated (or the trial is extended) before it expires, the disconnection does not happen. The system checks the updated status at the moment it runs, not when the trial started.
-
While the trial is expired, you cannot reconnect LinkedIn. The channels screen refuses the connection until the account is activated.
-
After the account is activated, you reconnect LinkedIn normally from the Channels screen. Just watch out for one detail: reconnecting creates a new connection — the name you had given it and the link to the Smart Funnel need to be set up again.
MCP access is also blocked
If you use the Nuvia MCP to connect external tools (Claude, Cursor, your own agents), that access is also cut off when the trial ends. Calls are refused until the account is activated.
You do not need to reconnect the MCP afterward. The check happens at the moment of use, based on the subscription status — as soon as the account is activated, access comes back on its own with the same connection as before.
Activate the account or extend the trial
-
Click Talk to sales on the side menu card
-
Explain that you want to activate the account (or need more trial time)
-
The Nuvia team activates the subscription or extends the trial period
After activation, the card disappears from the side menu and all actions work again. If the team extends the deadline, the card shows the new end date again.
Credits during the trial
The enrichment credits you receive at the start of the trial are valid for the whole period; there is no monthly top-up during the trial. The automatic monthly top-up only starts after the account is activated.
To understand how credits are used, see Understanding Nuvia credits.
