Agent Builder lets you read, test, and — for admins — create and edit Smart Funnels by chatting with an AI (Claude, Cursor, or another MCP-compatible assistant) connected to Nuvia, without clicking screen by screen in the builder.

Available on: accounts with Agent Builder MCP enabled (on by default). Who can do it: read and simulate — any user; create, edit, and configure HubSpot — Company Admin only.

Module: Nuvia MCP (accessed through an MCP-compatible AI assistant)

Before you start

You need an AI assistant connected to the Nuvia MCP. See How to connect the Nuvia MCP. For the list of all available tools, see Nuvia MCP tools reference.

With Agent Builder enabled, the tools appear to the AI assistant with the builder_ prefix. You do not type these names: you talk in natural language (e.g., “list my agents”, “simulate a conversation with the qualification agent”) and the client picks the right tool.

Read and understand your agents

Any user can ask the AI to list and open the account's agents, funnels and their stages, teams, users, custom fields, skills, and integrations. Use this to review how a Smart Funnel is built before changing it.

Test before activating (simulate a conversation)

Before publishing any change, ask the AI to simulate a conversation with the agent. The simulation is a rehearsal: the agent really replies, but nothing actually happens — it does not create a conversation, does not talk to the lead, and does not appear on the Conversations screen. You can send several messages in a row (up to 10) and provide fictional lead data to test a scenario.

Create or edit an agent

Available to the Company Admin. Describe in natural language what the agent should do (collect a piece of data, change stage, transfer to the team, close) and the AI translates it into the right configuration — you never touch code or identifiers.

  1. Ask the AI to create or edit the agent by describing the goal of each stage

  2. Review the proposal, which is described in plain language (not code)

  3. Ask for a simulation to check the behavior

  4. Activate the agent on the platform when you are satisfied

Edit an agent that is already live

Editing does not take the agent offline: its status is preserved. If the agent is active, the change takes effect immediately for the leads talking to it at that moment — that is why there is a safeguard.

When you ask to edit an active agent, the AI assistant does not change anything on the first try: it returns the agent's name, warns that it is active, and asks for your confirmation. Only after you clearly confirm is the change applied. Agents in draft or inactive do not ask for confirmation — the flow goes straight through.

Every publish goes through a quality check, which sorts problems into two levels:

  • Blockers (prevent activation): agent with no stages; conversation stage with an empty or too short instruction; empty rules, tone, personality, or specialist blocks; a declared transfer that did not fit.

  • Warnings (let you publish, but review them): no success stage; no transition from one stage to another; a loose action with no link; a tool mentioned without being connected.

Reuse a funnel (export and import)

The Company Admin can export an entire funnel — agents, stages, follow-ups, fields, tables, skills, and media — to a file (valid for 24 hours) and import it to recreate everything, reconnecting the elements automatically. It is like doing a “save as” of a funnel that already works and recreating it.

Configure HubSpot through MCP

Available to the Company Admin. Through the conversation, you can read the current HubSpot configuration (pipelines, owners, properties) and set up the mappings:

  • Fields: match a HubSpot property with a Nuvia field — what the agent collects goes to the contact in HubSpot.

  • Stages (deal stage): match each Nuvia funnel stage with a deal stage in a HubSpot Deals pipeline. When the lead moves forward in Nuvia, the deal moves forward in HubSpot.

  • Owners: match a Nuvia user with a HubSpot owner.

  • Sync rules: create contacts automatically, name template, owner source, among others.

Measure an agent's results

Ask for an agent's qualification rate to see how many conversations reached the success stage in a period (default: 60 days). Treat it as a floor for comparing agents and identifying which one sets the benchmark for results, not as an exact number.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be an admin to use Agent Builder?

Not for everything. Reading agents and simulating conversations is available to any user (with Agent Builder enabled, which is the default). Creating, editing, exporting/importing funnels, and configuring HubSpot are exclusive to the Company Admin profile.

Does the AI activate the agent on its own after I ask for a change?

No. Every change published through MCP comes in as a draft and goes through the quality check. Activating is still a deliberate action you take on the platform.

Does the simulation actually talk to the lead?

No. The simulation is a rehearsal: the agent replies using the same production AI, but it does not create a conversation, does not contact the lead, and does not appear on the Conversations screen. It also does not run external skills (systems, tables, calendar).

Can I move a funnel from one account to another?

Funnel export and import by the Company Admin happen within the same account. Recreating a funnel in another company is not something the customer's admin can do through MCP.

What types of custom fields can I create through the conversation?

Through the conversation, field creation only accepts the text, date, and number types. You cannot create option list or multiple choice fields this way.

Does stage sync with HubSpot go both ways?

Stage progress goes from Nuvia to HubSpot (the deal moves stage when the lead moves forward). There is also a way back, optional per stage, where the change in HubSpot is reflected in the Nuvia conversation. Each mapping you set replaces the entire list, so change one item at a time.
