You can create a list and import contacts via CSV or build a list from search results. This guide shows both ways to get started.

Available on: all plans.

Who can do it: any user with permission to view lists.

What you need before you start

  • Be logged in to Nuvia

  • Have contacts to import (CSV file) or defined search criteria (to create from Search)

Step 1 – Open the Lists module

  1. Main Screen > Sidebar > List

  2. You'll see the main screen with all the existing lists in your account

Step 2 – Create an empty list

  1. Click New list

  2. Fill in the fields:

    • List name – a descriptive name for the list (up to 100 characters). E.g. “Enterprise Leads SP”

    • Type – select Contact or Company, depending on the type of data the list will hold

    • Description – optional. Describe the list's purpose

  3. Click Create

  4. The list is created with the Ready status and shows up on the main Lists screen.

Step 3 – Import contacts via CSV (optional)

If you already have a contact database in a spreadsheet, you can import it directly:

  1. Open the list

    • Click the name of the list you just created to open its settings.

  2. Find the import option

    • Look for the “Import/Export” button (at the top of the screen).

  3. Choose the import type

    • Select the “Import CSV” option

  4. Upload the file (CSV)

    • Drag and drop the file into the area shown or click to select it.

    • File requirements:

      • Format: .csv

      • Maximum size: 10 MB

      • Up to 1,000 rows per import

  5. Review the field mapping

    • Nuvia tries to map the columns automatically. Check and adjust if needed:

      • Phone: telefone, celular, phone, whatsapp

      • Name: nome, name, contato

      • Email: email, mail

      • LinkedIn: linkedin, linkedinurl

  6. Confirm the import

    • Review everything and finish by clicking confirm.

Automatic deduplication

Nuvia deduplicates contacts automatically using the following priority:

Record typeDeduplication order
Contacts Phone > Email > LinkedIn (Name isn't used)
Companies Single field chosen in Link Company (Domain, Name or CNPJ)

Create a list from Search

If you prefer, you can create a list straight from the search engine results:

  1. In the sidebar, click Search

  2. Use the filters in the left panel to find the contacts you want (Location, Job title, Industry, Company size, etc.)

  3. Select the contacts you want by checking the boxes

  4. Click Actions

  5. Select Create list (for a new list)

  6. If you're creating a new list, fill in the name (up to 100 characters) and description (optional)

  7. Click Confirm

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What's the contact limit per list?

There's no contact limit per list. The limit is on CSV import, which accepts up to 1,000 rows per import and files up to 10 MB. For larger lists, run multiple imports.

Can I add contacts to a list that's already linked to a campaign?

Yes. Lists aren't locked when they're linked to a campaign. You can keep adding or removing contacts.

Is the list updated automatically?

No. Lists in Nuvia are static. New contacts that match the search criteria used to create the list aren't added automatically. To update it, add the new contacts manually or through a new import.

Can I remove a contact from a list?

Yes. With the list open, hover over the contact and click the ⋯ icon (three dots). Select Remove. This removes the contact only from the list, not from the platform.

Which field is required to create a contact?

For contacts, the only required field is Name. For companies, it's also Name. However, to use the contact in WhatsApp campaigns, the Phone field must be filled in. Likewise, for LinkedIn campaigns, the LinkedIn field must be filled in.
