Multichannel campaigns let you combine WhatsApp and LinkedIn in a single message sequence, switching channels by step. This enables prospecting strategies that start on one channel and follow up on another.

Available on: All plans.
Who can do it: Any user with access to the Campaigns module.

Before you start

  • At least 2 different channels connected (e.g. WhatsApp + LinkedIn)

  • A connected WhatsApp inbox with an approved HSM template

  • A LinkedIn account connected via Unipile

  • A contact list with data for both channels (ideal)

Key concepts

ConceptWhat it is
Multichannel campaign Combines two or more channels in a single sequence
Channel per step Each step can use a different channel
Eligibility per channel The system checks the contact's data for each channel
Conversation owner Who follows up with the lead. Required on every step and different from the handling agent (who replies)

Step 1: Create a new multichannel campaign

  1. Main Screen > Sidebar > Campaigns > New campaign

  2. Fill in the campaign name

  3. Select the Multichannel channel

  4. In Sender account(s), choose which account each channel will send from. Accounts appear grouped by channel (LinkedIn and WhatsApp) and the chosen ones show up as chips; you select one account per channel (choosing another account for the same channel replaces the previous one) and remove an account with the chip's x

  5. Click Next

Step 2: Set up the audience

  1. Select Manual or External trigger activation

  2. Choose the contact source

  3. The preview shows coverage by channel: contacts with WhatsApp, with LinkedIn, with both

  4. Confirm the creation

Step 3: Build the message sequence

  1. Click Add Step

  2. Select the Channel for this step: WhatsApp or LinkedIn

  3. Set up the content for the chosen channel

  4. Choose the Conversation owner — required on every step, WhatsApp or LinkedIn. The options are Unassigned, HubSpot Owner (with the integration connected) or an active user on the platform. The owner can't be the AI agent

  5. On WhatsApp steps, in the Assignments block, set who Handles the conversation when the contact replies: AI agent, HubSpot Owner (with the integration connected), a specific agent from the user list, or Unassigned. The Keep assignment for existing conversations option is checked by default and keeps whoever is already on the conversation — owner or agent

  6. Set the interval and repeat for each step

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What happens if a contact only has WhatsApp?

The system skips the LinkedIn steps and continues normally to the next step.

Does Stop on Reply work across channels?

Yes. A reply on any channel ends all following steps.

Do I also need to set the owner on LinkedIn steps?

Yes. The Conversation owner is required on every step of the sequence, regardless of the channel. The Handling field, on the other hand, is still a setting for WhatsApp steps.

Can I combine more than two channels?

Currently WhatsApp and LinkedIn. New channels will be added as they become available.
