Module: Main Screen > Side Menu > Campaigns

What you need before you start

  • The campaign you want to pause has the Active status

  • You have manager or admin permission

Pause a campaign

You can pause a campaign in two ways:

From the campaign list

  1. In the side menu, click Campaigns

  2. Find the active campaign you want to pause

  3. Click the actions menu (⋮) on the campaign row

  4. Click the toggle to deactivate it

  5. Click Pause campaign when the confirmation popup appears

From the campaign details screen

  1. Click the actions menu (⋮) on the campaign row, then click View details

  2. On the details screen, click the Pause button

What happens when you pause

Understanding the impact of pausing is key to deciding when to use it:

  • New sends stop immediately. Message steps that were in the queue aren't processed while the campaign is paused.

  • Contacts who already received earlier messages aren't affected. Messages already sent stay delivered as usual.

  • Campaigns with an external trigger stop processing new events. During the pause, CRM events don't add new contacts to the campaign.

  • Metrics are preserved. All send, delivery, and reply data remain available in the paused campaign.

Reactivate a paused campaign

From the campaign list

  1. Find the paused campaign in the list

  2. Click the actions menu (⋮)

  3. Click the toggle to activate it

From the campaign details screen

  1. Click the actions menu (⋮) on the campaign row, then click View details

  2. Click the Activate button

What happens when you reactivate

  • Contacts in progress continue from the step they were on when the campaign was paused

  • Pending steps are queued again for processing

  • Recurring campaigns run again at the next cron occurrence

  • Campaigns with an external trigger start processing CRM events again

Archive a campaign

If the campaign won't be used anymore and you want to keep the list organized, use the archive option:

  1. In the campaign list, click the campaign's actions menu (⋮)

  2. Click Archive

What happens when you archive

  • The campaign can't be edited or reactivated; archiving is permanent

  • Historical data and metrics are preserved

  • The campaign is hidden from the list by default; use the Archived status filter to see it

  • Archived campaigns remain available in the analytics dashboards when the “Archived” status filter is applied

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

When I pause, are messages that were being sent at that moment canceled?

Messages already being sent through the WhatsApp API at the exact moment of the pause may be completed. Pausing stops processing new messages in the queue, but doesn't cancel messages already submitted to the API.

How long does it take for the pause to take effect?

The effect is immediate. When you confirm the pause, the status changes to Paused and new sends stop being processed.

Can I edit the message sequence while the campaign is paused?

Existing steps can't be edited (they become immutable after activation).

If I pause and reactivate several times, do contacts get duplicate messages?

No. The system tracks which step each contact has already received. When you reactivate, each enrollment continues from the next pending step and never resends a completed step.

Is there a limit to how many times I can pause and reactivate?

There's no limit. You can pause and reactivate as many times as you need.

When should I pause vs. when should I archive?

Pause when the interruption is temporary and you plan to resume sending. Archive when the campaign won't be used anymore and you want to keep the list clean. The key difference: pausing is reversible, archiving is permanent.

What happens to recurring campaigns that were paused for several days?

Runs that should have happened during the pause are lost; the system doesn't make them up retroactively. When you reactivate, the campaign runs again at the next occurrence of the cron expression.

Does pausing affect the campaign metrics?

No. All metrics accumulated before the pause (sends, deliveries, replies, conversions) are preserved. New metrics keep being recorded as usual after reactivation.
