The Nuvia MCP server lets MCP-compatible AI apps securely access your company's data, such as search, lists, records, contacts, conversations and campaigns. In Microsoft Copilot Studio, this connection is set up directly in the agent's configuration, without OAuth authorization: you point the agent to the server URL and it starts listing the available tools automatically.

Before you start

Copilot Studio only supports external tools when AI-based orchestration is on for the agent. Without it, the option to add an MCP server doesn't show up.

How to connect

  1. In your agent, turn on Generative orchestration (required to use MCP).

  2. Go to Tools > Add a tool > New tool > Model Context Protocol.

  3. Fill in the fields:

  4. Under authentication, select None and click Create.

  5. On the next screen, click Not connected > Create new connection.

  6. Once connected, click Add and configure.

  7. Done: the Nuvia MCP shows up in the agent's Tools tab.

What you can do

Once connected, the Copilot agent can use tools equivalent to the actions you take in the platform, including:

  • Search: global prospecting, Brazil database (CNPJ) and filter value lookup

  • Lists and records: list and create lists, add columns, list/add/update records

  • Contacts: list, search by phone, create and update contacts (including in bulk) and notes

  • Conversations and campaigns: list conversations and messages, list and look up campaigns

  • Enrichment: enrich a list of contacts

  • Identity: confirm which user and company are connected

For details on each tool (name, what it does and arguments), see Nuvia MCP tools reference.

Frequently asked questions

Is the process the same in other AI clients?

Not exactly. Clients like Claude and Cursor connect through OAuth authorization, while Copilot Studio uses the MCP server as a type of tool inside the agent, without OAuth login. See How to connect the Nuvia MCP for the step-by-step for those other clients.

Can the connected agent see other companies' data?

No. Access is isolated per company (tenant-scoped). The agent only sees data from the company tied to the configured MCP server.

How do I track what was done through MCP?

Use the MCP Audit page, in Nuvia's side menu, to see authentications, sessions and tool calls made by your company.

What happens if the trial period ends?

MCP access is blocked while the trial is expired: tool calls are refused, the same way as write actions in the platform. As soon as Nuvia reactivates the account, access comes back on its own, with no need to reconfigure the agent.

Can I use the MCP to work on Smart Funnels?

Yes. Through an AI client connected to the MCP, you can read, test, create, edit and reuse Smart Funnels. See How to create and edit Smart Funnels through the MCP (Agent Builder) for what any user can do and what's exclusive to the Company Admin.
