What the Nuvia MCP and Antigravity are

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that standardizes how AI applications access external data and tools. Nuvia exposes an MCP server at https://api.nuvia.ai/mcp.

Google Antigravity is Google's agentic environment that runs Gemini models. It supports MCP servers natively, so you can connect Nuvia and use its tools (look up conversations, agents, platform data, etc.) right inside Antigravity.

Prerequisites: Antigravity installed and logged in, and a Nuvia account with access (to authorize the login).

How to connect

Nuvia is not yet in Antigravity's catalog of ready-made servers (Add MCP), so you connect it manually through the configuration file.

  • In Antigravity, go to Settings → Customizations and scroll down to Installed MCP Servers.

  • Click Open MCP Config. This opens the configuration folder, with the config.json and mcp_config.json files. Open mcp_config.json in a text editor (right-click → Open With → Text Editor).

  • Paste the block below into the file and save:

{   "mcpServers": {     "nuvia": {       "serverUrl": "https://api.nuvia.ai/mcp"     }   } }

If you already have other servers configured, put "nuvia": { ... } inside the existing mcpServers, separated by a comma. Do not create a second mcpServers block.

  • Go back to Customizations → Installed MCP Servers. “nuvia” shows up in the list with an Authenticate button (if it does not appear right away, click Refresh). It is normal to see the error Error: calling "initialize": ... Unauthorized before you authenticate. This is expected.

  • Click Authenticate. A page opens in your browser: Authorize MCP access (Nuvia), showing which user and company you are operating as. Click Sign in with Google again and complete the login.

  • After you authorize, the Unauthorized error goes away and the server becomes active.

How to test the connection

Open a New Conversation with a Gemini model and ask for something that uses the MCP, for example:

The agent calls the nuvia / whoami tool and returns userId, companyId, the user name, and the company. If that shows up, the connection is working.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Antigravity have Nuvia in its MCP catalog?

Not yet. That is why you connect it manually by editing mcp_config.json instead of using the Add MCP button.

Do I need to repeat this process every time I open Antigravity?

No. Once authenticated, the connection is saved. You only need to redo the process if you remove the server or if the authorization token expires.

Can the connected client see data from other companies?

No. Access is isolated by company (tenant-scoped). Each connection only sees the data of the company of the user who authorized it.
