Nuvia sends conversion events to Meta (via the Conversions API, or “CAPI”) when a lead who came from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad moves through the stages of your Smart Funnel. This way, Meta learns which conversations turned into qualified leads or sales and starts optimizing ad delivery to bring in contacts more likely to convert.

How it works

The sync connects three points: the Click-to-WhatsApp ad (which brings the lead), the WhatsApp number that receives the conversation, and the Smart Funnel that runs the conversation. When a conversation moves to a stage that has a conversion event set up, Nuvia sends that event to the Meta dataset (in Events Manager) linked to that number.

The sync only happens when all of these conditions are met:

  • The conversation came from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad.

  • The conversation runs on the WhatsApp Cloud API (other channels don't send conversion events).

  • The WhatsApp number has a linked dataset (step 1).

  • The stage the conversation moved to has a conversion event set (step 2).

Step 1: Link a dataset to the WhatsApp number

The dataset is the “destination” in Meta that receives the conversion events. Each WhatsApp number has its own.

  1. In the side menu, on the profile icon, click the 3 dots and select “Settings”

  2. In the side menu, go to Apps > WhatsApp

  3. In the numbers table, find the Dataset ID (CAPI) column

  4. On the row of the number you want, click Link (or Change, if there's already a dataset)

  5. In the Available datasets menu, select an existing dataset from your Meta account (WABA) or click Create new dataset

  6. Confirm. Nuvia shows Dataset linked (or Dataset created and linked) and the dataset name appears in the column

While there's no dataset, the column shows Not linked. To remove the link, click the trash icon next to the dataset. Nuvia confirms with Dataset unlinked and stops sending events for that number.

Step 2: Set the conversion event for each stage

The event tells Meta what happened when the conversation reaches that stage. You set it up stage by stage, inside the Smart Funnel.

  1. In the side menu, go to Smart Funnels and open the agent you want

  2. Inside the agent/funnel, go to the “Funnel stages” tab

  3. On the stage that represents the conversion (for example, the qualified lead stage), click the 3 dots next to the stage card

  4. Click Conversion event

  5. Choose the event that best describes that stage

  6. Your choice is saved right away; to stop sending, repeat the process and select None

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Why aren't my events reaching Meta?

Events are only sent when all conditions are met: the conversation came from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad, it runs on the WhatsApp Cloud API, the number has a linked dataset (step 1) and the stage has an event set up (step 2). If any of these is missing, the event isn't sent. Conversations that didn't come from Click-to-WhatsApp ads never generate conversion events.

Do I need to set up a dataset for each WhatsApp number?

Yes. The dataset is linked per number, in the Dataset ID (CAPI) column under Integrations > WhatsApp. Numbers without a linked dataset don't send events.

What happens if I leave the event as “None”?

The stage doesn't send any conversion event to Meta. Use None on stages that don't represent a conversion relevant to ad optimization.

Can I reuse the same dataset for several numbers?

The link is made number by number. For each number, you choose which dataset in your Meta account (WABA) will receive that number's events.

Does unlinking the dataset delete events already sent?

No. Unlinking only stops new events from being sent from that number. Events Meta already received stay recorded in the dataset.
