# How to set up dynamic audiences for campaigns

How to use different audience types (static list, funnel and external trigger) and advanced filters in Nuvia campaigns.

Dynamic audiences let a campaign automatically select contacts based on filters and conditions, instead of relying on a fixed static list.

**Available on:** all plans.

## Audience types

TypeBehaviorBest for

**List (static)** Fixed set of contacts One-off campaigns

**Funnel** Contacts from a Smart Funnel, optionally by stage Campaigns tied to the pipeline

**External (CRM trigger)** Contacts added in real time through CRM events Automated campaigns

## Static audience (list)

1.

Select **Manual** activation

2.

Choose **From a list**

3.

Select the list in the dropdown

4.

Check the preview (eligible vs. ineligible)

## Audience from a funnel

1.

Select **From a funnel**

2.

Choose the Smart Funnel

3.

Optionally, select a specific stage and apply advanced filters

## External audience (CRM trigger)

To use this audience, make sure [HubSpot is connected, in **Apps**](https://nuvia.ai/en/docs/artigos/14501908-how-to-set-up-the-hubspot-integration).

1.

Select **External trigger** activation

2.

Set up the event: contact created, deal created, lead updated, etc.

3.

Optionally, apply advanced filters

### Available events

Contact created New contact in the CRM

Contact updated Data changed

Deal created New opportunity

Deal updated Stage change

## Advanced filters

Click **Advanced filters**

2.

Add conditions on contact fields

3.

Combine them with **AND** or **OR** logic

4.

The preview updates in real time

## Frequently asked questions

**Can I change the audience after launching?**

No. The audience is defined when you create the campaign. With an external trigger, new contacts keep coming in.

**Can I combine a list + a funnel?**

No. Choose a single source per campaign.

**Do filters affect campaigns with an external trigger?**

Yes. Filters are applied when the contact arrives through the trigger.
