The **LinkedIn Search via URL** feature lets you paste a LinkedIn search URL (Classic, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter) directly into Nuvia.

**Available on:** all plans.

**Who can do it:** any user with a connected LinkedIn account.

**Module:Main Screen > Side Menu > LinkedIn > URL**

## What you need before you start

-

A LinkedIn account connected to Nuvia (LinkedIn Classic, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter)

-

The LinkedIn account is active, with no restrictions or expired session

-

Be logged in to LinkedIn in your browser with the same account connected to the platform

## Key concepts

ConceptWhat it isWhen to use

**URL mode** You paste the URL of a search already done on LinkedIn When you already have the ideal search on LinkedIn and want to import profiles in bulk

**Filters mode** You set up filters directly in Nuvia's sidebar When you want to build a quick search without leaving the platform

**Progressive import** The system fetches page by page in the background Every URL import uses this mode automatically

## Run the search on LinkedIn and copy the URL

1.

Open LinkedIn in your browser (linkedin.com, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter)

2.

Use the search bar and apply the filters you want: job title, company, location, industry, connection degree, etc.

3.

Confirm the results match your ideal customer profile

4.

**Copy the URL** from the browser's address bar

5.

Click **Import**

Tip

use **Sales Navigator** whenever possible, since it offers more filters, more data per profile (company, job title, tenure), and more profiles per page (100 vs. 50 on LinkedIn Classic).

Important

don't edit the URL manually before pasting it. LinkedIn URLs have encoded parameters that, if changed, invalidate the search.

## Control the import

During the import, you can use the available controls:

-

**Pause** – stops temporarily. The import can be resumed from where it stopped

-

**Continue** – resumes the import after a pause. The system continues from the page where it stopped, without starting over

-

**Cancel** – stops permanently. Results already imported stay visible in the table; only the next pages are stopped

Important

the import progress only exists in the browser's memory during the active session. If you close the tab or the browser, the progress is lost and the import will need to start over. Profiles already loaded but not saved are also lost.

### Save the imported contacts to a list

The import **doesn't save contacts automatically** to your database. After the import, you need to save them explicitly.

1.

In the results table, select the profiles you want by checking the boxes

2.

Click **Save contacts**

3.

Choose the destination list or create a new list

4.

Confirm the operation

Important

If you don't save the contacts before closing the tab, they'll be lost. Always save the profiles you want to a list after the import.

### Use Filters mode

Besides URL mode, LinkedIn Search offers **Filters** mode, where you set the criteria directly in Nuvia's sidebar.

1.

In the side menu, click **Search** > **LinkedIn**

2.

At the top of the screen, select the **Filters** tab (instead of URL)

3.

Set up the filters available in the sidebar

4.

Browse the results page by page

FeatureURL modeFilters mode

**Source of filters** LinkedIn (you set them up there) Nuvia (you set them up here)

**Volume** Bulk import of all pages Page-by-page browsing

**When to use** Search already built on LinkedIn, high volume Quick search with few filters

**Pagination** Progressive in the background Manual (previous/next)

## Common errors and solutions

ProblemLikely causeSolution

**“Invalid URL or parameters” error** URL expired, edited manually, or of an incompatible type (companies, jobs) Go back to LinkedIn, run the search again, and copy the URL again. Don't edit the URL manually

**Authentication error or expired session** The LinkedIn account disconnected from the platform Go to Side menu > **Platform** > **Integrations**, reconnect your LinkedIn account, and try again

**Import stopped on its own** Temporary LinkedIn rate limit Wait a few minutes and click **Continue**. The import resumes from where it stopped

**Profiles appear as “Candidate #1”, “Candidate #2”** Recruiter accounts anonymize profiles This is a LinkedIn restriction for Recruiter accounts, not a bug. Use Sales Navigator for complete data

**Import is very slow** Search with many results or LinkedIn rate limit For searches with more than 1,000 results, wait. The system processes within LinkedIn's limits. Leave it running in the background

## Frequently asked questions

## Frequently asked questions

**The import stopped on its own. What happened?**

The system probably hit a temporary LinkedIn rate limit. Wait a few minutes and click **Continue**; the import resumes from where it stopped. If the error persists, check whether your LinkedIn session is still active.

**Can I use a LinkedIn URL I saved days ago?**

It depends. LinkedIn search URLs usually keep working for a while, but they can expire or change format. If the import returns an “Invalid URL” error, run the search again on LinkedIn and copy the URL again.

**Are imported profiles saved automatically to my contact database?**

No. The import brings the profiles to the screen for you to view and select. You need to choose which ones to save and click **Save contacts**, choosing a destination list.

**Can I use URL mode with a LinkedIn Classic (free) account?**

Yes. URL mode works with any type of connected account. However, Classic accounts return less data per profile (no company, job title, or tenure) and fewer profiles per page (50 vs. 100 on Sales Navigator).

**What happens if I close the tab during the import?**

The import is interrupted and profiles already loaded but not saved are lost. We recommend waiting for it to finish or using the **Pause** button before leaving.

**Is there a risk of my LinkedIn account being restricted when using this feature?**

The risk exists, but it's mitigated. The platform uses the Unipile API (it doesn't scrape) and automatically respects LinkedIn's rate limits. To minimize risk, don't run more than one import per account at the same time, and spread imports throughout the day.

**What's the difference between LinkedIn Search via URL and Search with advanced filters?**

They complement each other. LinkedIn Search via URL imports prospects directly from LinkedIn using a search URL copied from there. Search with advanced filters uses Nuvia's internal database. See [How to use advanced filters in search](https://nuvia.ai/en/docs/artigos/14499358-how-to-use-advanced-search-filters) for more details.

**Can I import more than 2,500 profiles in one search?**

LinkedIn Sales Navigator limits visibility to 2,500 results per search, regardless of the actual total. For larger audiences, refine the filters on LinkedIn and split them into several smaller searches, for example by location or industry.

**After saving the contacts, can I send them directly to a campaign?**

Yes. Contacts saved to lists can be used as a campaign audience. In the **Campaigns** module, select the list as the audience source. See [How to add search results to a campaign](https://nuvia.ai/en/docs/artigos/14575187-how-to-add-search-results-to-a-campaign) for more details.
